SENIOR MEDIA COACH
Ally Bell
What did you do before you were a Miner?
+ I spent almost 10 years at the Fox station in Minneapolis. I worked in the promotions department as a topical and promotions producer before becoming the marketing and log coordinator. Working in news for that long set me up for success in my current position to help clients truly be their best for every interview.
Share your favorite client memory.
+ One of my favorite client memories is when I got my financial client in Seattle his first ever interview, and it went so well. He was nervous leading up to the interview, but after a few coaching calls with me he started to feel more comfortable. He went into the studio for a live interview, which can be nerve-wracking for anyone, and they loved having him. He has now become a frequent guest on their morning news. It’s great when both the client and the media are happy with a partnership!
What would you tell your 20-year-old self?
+ Stop worrying about where you will go in life, everything will work out even better than you imagined.
If you could have a dream dinner party, who would sit at your table?
+ Julie Andrews, Taylor Swift, Steve Carell, Ina Garten, Joe Mauer and my dad (it would be a big table!)
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t at work?
+ Reading. Ever since I was a kid, I have always had a book with me. It didn’t matter where we were going – a restaurant, my grandma’s house, the store or the state fair, and that hasn’t changed. I love to sit on my porch with my dog and dive into a good book.
What’s your favorite way to relax and recharge?
+ I love to cook. Over the past few years, I have really started diving into learning everything I can about cooking, and I have gotten pretty good at it (at least that is what my husband tells me!). My favorite thing to do is put my headphones on, listen to a podcast, pour myself a glass of wine and cook. It truly calms me down and helps me reset.
