What did you do before you were a Miner?
+ I was working in public accounting at a small firm. The majority of the work I was doing was tax-related. So filing and preparing tax returns for various clients – businesses, individuals and non-profits. I decided to make a change. Taxes are a lot of fun, but not something I wanted to do for the rest of my career.
If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?
+ Visiting a new place I have never been before. As a child, my family did not go on many trips. As an adult, I have tried to travel and experience new places as often as I can.
What do you do for fun?
+ I am a huge sports fan. I enjoy playing (basketball) and watching sports (live and on TV). I also really enjoy food. I like eating, cooking and learning about new foods. Additionally, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, watching stand-up comedy and having new experiences.
+ To actively seek out new opportunities, even if they are risky, and to welcome new experiences and situations rather than resisting them.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one food, what would it be?
+ Chicken wings for sure! I mean actual wings (bone-in), not those “boneless” saucy nuggets.
Guilty pleasure?
+ I truly enjoy crime and medical dramas, such as Law and Order, Chicago MED/PD, 9-1-1, and NCIS. These shows make me feel like I can solve crimes or diagnose rare conditions, but then I quickly realize I probably shouldn’t.
