MEDIA COACH

Noah Manderfeld

What did you do before you were a Miner?

+ I was a TV news reporter and later, a sports director in Wausau, Wisconsin for four years. I covered everything from the Packers to local high school football and will always cherish the relationships I built with the community. The speed of TV is also important in my role at Media Minefield, and it allows me to adapt to breaking news and best help my former colleagues and our clients.

Share your favorite client memory.

+ One of our clients watched a news station every morning and admired it from afar. About six months into our relationship with them, they were interviewed live during that station’s 6 p.m. newscast. Our team took a screenshot during the interview and framed it for the client as a memento. No better way to remember their dream placement!

What would you tell your 20-year-old self?

+ There’s more that matters than your career. At 20 years old, I was set on making it big in the sports broadcasting industry. I made my mark in Wausau, but I discovered that success in my personal life was just as important as my working life, and TV made that balance difficult. I’ve now found a home at Media Minefield that provides flexibility to enjoy my personal life while also dedicating myself to work.

What are three things people don’t know about you?

+ My hometown Dairy Queen (Northfield, Minnesota!!) has been owned by my family for over 60 years. I was fortunate enough to grow up around ice cream and will never turn down a Blizzard!

+ I love baseball. I’m a big Minnesota Twins fan and go to their games regularly now that I’m back in the Twin Cities. My goal is to visit all 30 ballparks!

+ I am the bread maker in my household. I make sandwich bread, buns, rolls – you name it! There’s nothing like the taste of freshly baked bread.

What’s your favorite holiday, and how do you celebrate it?

+ I love Christmas. The lights, presents, snow and family bonding time make it special. I celebrate it with lots of family and great food/desserts.
